Whilst we were still waiting for the verdict of the case against the Mayor, concerning the controversial closing down of the private company that run Almuñécar TV, the Mayor, on the very eve of appearing before the Judge, Marta Cortés, denounced her before the Consejo General del Poder Judicial, accusing her of graves errors procesales (serious procedure errors).
However, at the very end of June, it was announced that the Mayor had been found guilty as charged and sentenced to 28 months imprisonment and 28 months barred from office. He subsequently appeal against this judicial finding at the case now finds itself before the provincial Supreme Court, which is expected to deliver its verdict before the end of this year. There can be no futher appeal.
