The First Councillor for La Herradura , Juan José Ruiz Joya, has denounced the ‘deficiencies’ experienced in the medical centre in La Herradura.
“There exists an authentic lack of control that is gravely prejudicial to the patients in La Herradura,” he said.
Ruiz Joya pointed out that his party had been complaining to the Town Hall and the Junta de Andalucía, who control over health matters, for over five years about the problems being encountered by the centre.
Among the complaints is the lack of an administrator for the centre, who could better manage the centre and allow the implementation of a system of pre-booked appointments.
The PP also bemoaned the lack of an ambulance to cover a population of more than five thousand people, which doubles in the summer. Even with the summer influx of people, in the case of an emergency, an ambulance would still have to come from Almuñécar.
“It is lamentable that the PSOE, after infinite motions at meetings, including a ‘private members bill’ presented by the PP of Andalucía in the Parlamento Andaluz, they have not lifted a single finger to try and solve the problems or answer the demands,” concluded Ruiz Joya.
