The rift between the governing party and their erstwhile ‘unofficial’ allies, the PP, has widened after the Mayor relieved them of a seat on the local-area council, La Mancomunidad de La Costa Tropical. A provincial PP spokesman has described this action as that of a feudal land owner. They also pointed out that by doing this, the Mayor has chosen which of their two posts remain: Sr. Ledesma; i.e., the ‘rebel’ PP councillor that prevented a vote of no confidence against the Mayor from prospering.
The PP councillor that lost his place as representative for the Almuñécar Town Hall in the Mancomunidad is Juan José Ruiz Joya. He has been replaced by María Victoria Ruiz, who belongs to the Mayor’s party.
