You might have noticed that they have changed all the towns’ traffic lights from conventional bulbs to L.E.D. besides being much less ‘energy-thirsty,’ they also provide a much more intense light. To these two benefits you can also add duration, as a normal bulb last around 8,000 hours, whereas the L.E.D. bulbs last up to 100,000 hours.
Oh, and they don’t blow, either, they simple lose intensity as they age. All told, just over 20 sets of traffic lights have been changed over in Almuñécar and La Herradura. Now, I bet, like me, you didn’t know all that and can’t wait to tell somebody else over a beer. Sad, isn’t it…
