A provincial law court in Sevilla has sent a couple to prison for not acting on a demolition order over their home. However, as the couple has no criminal record and the prison sentence (6 months) is inferior to the minimum sentence of 24 months that would require incarceration, the couple are pending a further judicial decision.

The couple had originally received a court order to demolish their illegally built home at their own expense, but as they had not taken the slightest notice of this judicial decision the judge was not amused and decided to rustle up some respect.
