Over 400 people were stung by jellyfish in Salobreña – no cases of jellyfish being bitten by humans were recorded. This one-side aggression has not gone unnoticed.

Protección Civil for Almuñécar/Herradura has issued its figures for July, concerning First Aid on the at its four beach posts: La Herradura, San Cristóbal, Puerta del Mar and Velilla beaches. Jelly-fish stings are up, which is hardly surprising as there are more people around to be stung, so to speak.
