At the end of last month (29th) the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos put out a fire around 20.30h in the Almijara area, next to the electricity substation.

Only the rapid intervention of the Motril Fire Service, backed by a around ten Protección Civil volunteers, the Motril Policía Nacional and Local prevented the advances flames from devouring the extensive spread of greenhouses, as well as cortijos, above Carchuna.
