Tucked away in a little corner of Motril’s town centre a delightful little gallery-come-art centre has recently opened its doors. Run by the fabulous and somewhat eccentric Virginia Ruiz Mansilla this creative little haven offers local artists the chance to exhibit their work and rub shoulders with other like-minded souls.

Almuñécar Art Gallery

Really, it’s not that hard to find, because there couldn’t be a better landmark: the main-road bridge over the Jete road, in San Sebastian. If you walk up to the bridge from the fountain, running down the side of the embankment there is a lane to the left. Just a few metres down, there is a multi-coloured metal door – that’s where the gallery is. It’s pretty spacious and is well lit.

Having a coffee in the main square is just about to get a little bit more colourful. From May the 2nd to the 31st resident artist, Gina Brown, will be displaying some of her abstract landscape paintings in Bar El Meson.
