Falling Boulder Kills Driver

A 41-year-old, male driver lost his life after a large boulder fell on his car. This occurred in the town of Benaójan near Ronda, Málaga. Three passengers were injured.

This ocurred yesterday just after four in the afternoon on the MA-8400. The emergency services rushed to the scene but there was nothing that could be done for the driver as the boulder impacted right where the driver was sitting

The three other people in the car (two young men of 21 and a young woman aged 19,) were taken to a hospital’s A&E department to have their injuries treated.

The road had to be closed to traffic whilst fire personnel worked to move the boulder off the body of the victim so that he could be removed from the car.

Editorial comment: One last point, the car’s numberplate was foreign, as a clue to their nationality and furthermore despite repeated reports that it hit the windscreen in front of the driver, at least two photos show that it hit the front passenger’s side.
