Owls have amazing eyesight, especially in the dark, but this owl might be an exception, as it flew into a wire fence and became trapped with one of its wings tangled in the mesh.

Well, somebody came across it and after taking one look at its seriously not amused glare, they decided to call in the experts; the Antequera Fire Department because the municipality where it happened, Cartaojal, is close to Antequera.
It was Saturday, just gone past, when they were called out to rescue this fine specimen of Eagle Owl (Búho Real). Fire personnel advanced gingerly with a blanket to protect themselves from its claws and beak, and whilst one hung onto the bird using the blanket for protection and to immobilise its nasty bits, the other freed its wing.
The Antequera Policía Local then took charge of the bird until it could be collected by the Centro de Recuperación de Especies Amenazadas (CREA).
Rumours that the smell of roast chicken were coming out of the municipal-police offices are unfounded.
