The Almuñécar 2026 Hiking Programme returns after the summer break with new routes between the months of September and November.

The first excursion will be on the 20th of this month with a route through Villanueva del Trabuco, in Málaga, with the final one for this year on the 22nd of November which will be around Vélez de Benaudalla.
The Villanueva del Trabuco Water Route, an easy-difficulty route, taking around five hours, which will allow nature lovers to discover some of the main, natural and ethnographic elements (the people, local customs, gastronomy, etc) of area.
The route will run along the banks of the Río Guadalhorce, passing several mills, cortijos, springs and natural enclaves along the way until reaching the Fuente de los 100 Caños (100 Spouts Fountain), which is one of the most important highlights along the route.
The itinerary also includes the La Fuente de Las Monjas, a waterfall, the Cueva de la Cima (Summit Cave), the La Fuente Chocilla, and La Fuente La Pita, before ending in Villanueva del Trabuco.
Following this route, for October, which falls on the 4th, will be in Berja (Almería) and in the same month on the 18th, Castril, followed on the 8th of November, Zafarraya, and on the 22nd of November, as mentioned above, Vélez de Benaudalla.
Departures are scheduled for 07:30h. from the municipal sports stadium, from where participants will travel by bus to the starting point of each route.
Registration remains open and can be done in person at the municipal sports stadium from Monday to Thursday, from 09:00h to 14:00h. and from 17:00h to 22:00h.
