Salobreña Beach Death

An elderly man lost his life yesterday on Playa de La Guardia in Salobreña whilst he was bathing in the sea.

Several fellow beachgoers phoned in to the 112 number around 12.30h to say that they had pulled an elderly man from the water, who showed signs of having drowned and was no longer breathing.

A 061 ambulance was immediately despatched, together with officers from the Guardia Civil and the Policía Local. The paramedics declared that nothing could be done for the man. The autopsy report should clarify how he died.
