Salobreña Mayor, Javier Ortega, announced changes to bus routes in town to improve public-transport access to the new Centro de Salud.

This is not only good news for Salobreña residents without means of transport, but also for residents of Lobres, and La Caleta, too.
One of the major changes is that the bus route that will now make stops at the Centro de Salud will also operate earlier, at 08.30h – people who had appointments to have blood samples taken had to be there by 08.00h in some cases.
The new urban transport service contract for Salobreña is currently out for tender and is expected to be awarded to a new company by the end of the year.
This 10-year contract aims to eliminate the deficiencies of the current service by expanding both how often the buses run, as well as the timetable.
Furthermore, the buses will run every day of the week and the service will extend its summer hours from 8:00h to 22.30h. Another change will be adjusting the timetable so align with school hours, so that pupils can use the municipal bus to go and return from school.
