A beachgoer in the province of Almería had to be resued after he injured himself jumping from rocks into the sea.

The incident took place on the Playa del Playazo, near Rodalquilar within the Níjar natural park yesterday. The accident was called in at 12.30h with the caller saying that the young man was in the water in trouble in an area with difficult access because of the rocks.

A helicopter belonging to the Salvamento Marítimo was called out and he was winched aboard and immediately flown to Almería Airport where paramedics were waiting.

The ‘loss’ part of this article involves a child who died yesterday in a private swimming pool. This also occurred in Almería, but in the village of Aljariz in a cortijo in the Barriada del Real.

The incident happened just before 10.36h, which was when the emergency coordination centre, 112 received a call saying that the girl had been found unconscious in the water

The first responders had tried CPR but to no avail.
