Almuñécar Town Council and the Provincial Council have published the programme for the 39th edition of the Jazz en la Costa International Festival.
The much awaited Jazz festival will take place from July the 21st to the 26th in El Parque Majuelo, which is its habitual venue.

The festival, which is on a European level as it hosts top international Jazz musicians, will offer six nights of music
The 2026 Lineup:
- Tuesday the 21st: The festival kicks off with Paquito D’Rivera, a giant of Latin jazz and winner of 18 Grammy Awards, performing with his quintet.
- Wednesday the 22nd: The Joe Lovano Paramount Quartet (featuring Joe Lovano, Julian Lage, Asante Santi Debriano, and Will Calhoun) takes the stage, blending multi-generational talent with contemporary jazz sounds.
- Thursday the 23rd: A collaboration between Chico Freeman and the Francesca Tandoi Trio, bridging the gap between European and American jazz traditions.
- Friday the 24th: One of the edition’s most unique performances features Erik Truffaz and Antonio Lizana presenting New Sketches of Spain, a project conceived to commemorate the 2026 centenary of Miles Davis’s birth.
- Saturday the 25th: Renowned pianist Jacky Terrasson returns to Almuñécar with his trio to present his critically acclaimed work, “Moving On.”
- Sunday the 26th: Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca will close the festival with “La gran diversión,” a show merging Afro-Cuban tradition and rhythm with modern flair.
As well as this ‘main-course’ lineup on the main stage, the Trasnoches de Jazz parallel concerts will return, offering late-night sessions with the Costa Jazz Quartet and guest artists.
Jazz en la Costa has become one of Europe’s most prestigious and long-running festivals over nearly four decades. It holds the European Festivals Association quality seal and has hosted legends such as Branford Marsalis, Chucho Valdés, Gregory Porter, and Pharoah Sanders.
