The police in Granada arrested the culprit behind the attack on schoolchildren using a .177 (4.5mm) air rifle at a school in the Chana area of the city.

It was around 11.00h on Tuesday that kids at the school said that they felt a burning sensation on their faces and backs.

Officers from the Policía Local had examined the injuries and realised that they were consistent with injuries cause by air-rifle pellets/BBs, so they searched the playground and found seven, expended, 4.5mm pellets.

By 13.00h the next day, the police had arrested a 40-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator. He confessed saying that the children had made fun of his family.
