A hill fire broke out in the Los Guájares area of the Costa Tropical yesterday, requiring a deployment of Infoca
High winds between 30 and 50 kpgh hindering the efforts of firefighters afternoon and evening where they work in the Barranco Alberca Alta area

Infoca deployed three squads, as well as a Brigada de Refuerzo contra Incendios de la Comunidad Autónoma (BRICA), which is a specialised, back-up unit, fire trucks, and helicopters, both heavy and light, are also active.
Infoca announced around 02.00h this morning that the fire had been estabilizado, meaning that it was contained within its perimeter.
There was a hill fire that affected the same area, as well as other municipalities, in the summer of 2022, which spread to cove 5,194 hectareas.
It doesn’t bode well that our first hill fire in Granada happens less than a week after the start of spring, and after one of the wettest winters in a long, long time.
