A man had been working as a nurse for the 061 Ambulance Service in Málaga for five years without raising any suspicion. But he was not what he claimed to be.
It was an anonymous tip off to the Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Enfermería de Málaga that set the wheels turning that would lead to his arrest for professional intrusion and document forgery.

The College for Nursing reported their suspicions in 2025 to the Prosecutor’s Office as the nurse was not registered as such.
From there, the Policía National began investigating: after claiming that he was a military nurse and having given “repeated excuses” to the the Health Authorities, which had requested documental proof from him that he was a qualified nurse, the noose tightened and he was arrested after the Investigators confirmed that no degree existed in his name.
Although it was possible he had finished his studies but simply hadn’t paid the fees for the issuing of a diploma, the University of Málaga reported back that the individual had never even been enrolled in the Nursing Programme as he had claimed.
The Police even contacted the Spanish Air Force to check whether he had served as a military nurse, which turned up a negative, as well.
It was during the Covid-19 Pandemic that he was hired; when hospitals were desperate for medical personnel.
