Motril Bus Station’s Leaky Roof

Whilst an opposition party in Almuñécar is complaining about the state of neglect concerning the bus station, Motril is actually doing something at last about theirs.

Motril Town Hall has begun the repairs on the leaky roof of the municipal Estación de Autobuses, which is on Calle Tegucigalpa.

The work has a budget of 55,000 euros, and will add a waterproof layer to the roof to put right the leaks and hopefully keep it that way during the coming years.

The bus company that uses the facilities and the Town Hall have been arguing for some time over whose responsibility it is to maintain the premises.

Councillor José Peña, emphasised the need to get this done, saying, “With a budget of 55,000 euros, we hired a company specialised in waterproof materials to improve the roof,” adding that the upkeep of the interior of the building falls to the bus company.

We ran an article of the state of the bus station last year.

You’d think whoever built it should be responsible. The least you expect from a comparatively new building is that it keeps the rain out!
