The Motril Councillor for Municipal Movilidad y Transportes, José Peña, appeared before the press to speak about problems with the bus station, which is relatively new (built in 2016).
It’s the rain that has caused the problems. Councillor Peña pointed out that the contract between the Town Hall and the company running the bus station includes stipulations that the leaseholder has to maintain the structure, as well as just keeping it clean; i.e., run with the costs.

The councillor confirmed that the municipal coffers were not going to cover repairs, as it is the obligation of Nex Continental, which is the company that manages the installations.
For this reason, the Town Hall “urges the company carry out urgent repairs.”
Unfortunately, at no point did the Councillor say what it was that needed repairing although he puts the cause down to rainfall.
However, Nex Continental commissioned a firm of architects to inspect the building and their subsequent report came up with that the damage is the result of building design and construction deficiencies. Oops! In other words, it has structural problem not cause by a supposed lack of maintenance.
The reason that they hired the surveyors to check the building was that in January they noticed that the roof was leaking
