The Central Government has finally agreed to pay out compensation for damages caused by flooding recorded between September 2024, and March 2025.

Jete and Chimeneas had been declared as seriously affected areas during that time period, and therefore would be entitled to some of the nearly 30,000 euros compensation awarded to the province.

These funds are for two projects for the repair of municipal infrastructure and the provincial road network due to the damaged caused by the DANA (isolated high-altitude depression or cloud burst) on November the 12th and 13th, 2024.

In Jete, work will be carried out on the Guadalinfo Centre, where the terrazzo flooring of the room affected by humidity and water filtration will be repaired to restore the municipal facility to proper conditions for use. The compensation will provide 50% of the total repair cost.

The Centro Gualalinfo, is one of a network of rural premises, that are used to provide public internet access and where local schoolchildren are given extra-curriculum IT classes.
