Montenegro Fugitive Arrest

A 47-year-old fugitive from Montenegro was caught by the Policía Nacional after their investigations led them to Málaga where he had been hiding out under a false identity.

In fact, locating him was far from easy, as, according to the police, he had used up to 17 different identities.

According to Montenegro authorities, he had joined a criminal organisation in 2020, where he held an important position, providing the gang with residential properties that would be used “to conceal and dispose of the victims’ bodies.”

One of the crimes committed was on August the 1st, 2020 when the suspect allegedly participated in the planning and organising the murder of a man in the city of Kotor, on the Adriatic coast.

The victim was riding a motorcycle when he was struck on the head with a metal bar, causing him to fall to the ground. The victim was then tied up and beaten to death.

Here in Spain after capture, the suspect’s lawher rejected the police report’s claim that he used 17 different identities and argued that there was no flight risk, pointing out that the man had renewed a rental lease in Málaga that was valid from June 2024. The court rejected his appeal and upheld his imprisonment, pending extradition.
