Serial Cat Killer

A man was arrested by the Guardia Civil in Sagra (Toledo) for having killed over 100 cats in recent years, 50 of which in the last four months.

It was a resident in this small town of 4,200 inhabitants who brought the fatalities in the stray-cat colonies to the attention of the police. The resident said owing to her profession in the medical sector, she had deduced that they had been poisoned.

The Guardia Civil found small quantities of poison in water left in small bowls in the park and in the backyard of a house where several cat carcasses had been discovered. The house belongs to the person who has been arrested as the suspect.

The Guardia Civil had received the help of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid where they had taken the carcasses to be examined.
