For anybody who has followed Restaurant/Hotel Elysium in Melegís from the beginning, it was obvious that they would become hugely popular and be a landmark in the valley.
Therefore, the news that Michael & Jasmijn’s efforts had won their project a place in the 2026 Michelin Guide, does not come as so much of a surprise but rather as confirmation of the dedication that this couple has expended upon Restaurant Elysium.

If there is a surprise, it is that they have attained this level of recognition in less than a year since opening!
Michael Sandoval, who in his mid 20s was already Head Chef at a Michelin–starred restaurant in the USA, achieved this distinction for his own restaurant in the privileged Valle de Lecrín.
But this establishment is also an exquisitely designed, luxury-stays hotel, with Jasmijn Saft overseeing every detail whilst Michael concentrates on the restaurant.
This is a team, through and through, where there is something essential of them both in each side of the business. Enhorabuena!
This Christmas, which is just around the corner, the restaurant will be open on the 24th and 25th for dinner with a 12-course, tasting menu for 175 euros per person.
They have planned a special New Year’s Eve event, (250 euros p/p + 60 euros if you wish to pair the courses with wine) lasting from 20.00h on the 31st to 02.00h on the 1st. From 20.00h to 23.30h they will put on a 12-course tasting menu and then from 23.30h until 02.00h there will be the traditional grapes, champagne, Open Bar and more…

And remember, for an extra 200 euros you can obtain one of their tastefully decorated rooms for that night with breakfast included! Hurry, because available places are running out!
