The Granada Guitar Makers Association will put on an exhibition in La Herradura about the craft and tradition of guitar making in Granada.
This special event, which wlll be held later this month of the 28th and 29th at the village’s Centro Cívico, will have the participation of twelve luthiers from the province.

The word luthier is originally French and comes from luth, the French word for “lute”. The term was originally used for makers of lutes, but it came to be used in French for makers of most bowed and plucked stringed instruments such as members of the violin family (including violas, cellos, and double basses) and guitars.
There will also be a selection of historical instruments that showcase the evolution of the renowned Granada school for guitar making.
The exhibition will be open to the public on Friday the 28th, from 16:00h to 19:00h, and on Saturday the 29th, from 10:00h to 14:00h, so you will only have one afternoon and one morning to visit the exhibition of Granada’s guitar-making heritage!
Participating guitar luthiers are: Stephen Hill, John Ray, Aaron García Ruiz, Mariana Molina, Pavel Gavryushov, Ana Espinosa, Andy Marvi, Alessandro Perciaccante, Johannes Tkingt, Oscar Muñoz, Sergio Valverde
Visitors will have the opportunity to see, hear, and even try out a variety of meticulously crafted guitars, each with the unique character and sound of its maker.
This cultural event has been organised by the Asociación de Guitarreros de Granada with the collaboration of the La Herradura branch of the Town Hall.
