Almuñécar Cultural Agenda

Here is Almuñécar's Cultural Agenda for November, containing music, plays, literature, films and other activities.

There are plenty of musical events with a series of concerts ranging from choral music with L’Infini des Cultures Croisées and the opera Nabucco, performed by the National Opera Theatre of Moldova, to the Sexitanian Falling Metal festival, which is basically Rock & Heavy Metal and will be held in the Jardines Botánicos del Parque Majuelo.

During the coming weeks we will also have the chance to see Maestro Miyazaki Chamber Orchestra concert, Bluemoon’s Beatles tribute, a flamenco show, Requiebro, and a tribute to the Bee Gees.

The programme also includes Fran Doblas’s El Inmigrante tour, the Mediterranean Chamber Orchestra’s Cantos de Bohemia concert, and a cello & piano recital organised by Juventudes Musicales.

And it continues with the Banda Municipal (in honour of Saint Cecilia) and at lease three more musicial dates.

There will also be plenty of plays in the Casa de La Cultura, staging family-friendly productions such as Alice in Wonderland and highly anticipated comedies like Two Men Alone and Eight Andalusian Surnames: The Funeral. The theatre programme will be rounded off with Quixote’s Hunger, an original production that pays homage to classic literature from a contemporary perspective.

There will be several book presentations and lectures. Among the highlights are the Looking at a Painting series, led by Isabel Vílchez Huertas; the presentation of Red Rooster by Magüy Cruz; and the book The Power of Food by Claudia Di Césare.

As for Films, there will be the Tuesday Film Nights at the Auditorium, which will screen titles such as Una quinta portuguesa, Mi amiga Eva, Black Dog, and First Cow. In addition, the Cuban documentary Diarios de una Motocicleta will be presented in a special session on Monday, November the 10th, in the Conference Room in the Casa de La Cultura.

To find out about dates, starting times and ticket information you can visit the official Almuñécar website. However, you’ll have to blow up the image to be able to read it!
