The body of a man was retrieved from the sea yesterday off Cerro Gordo in La Herradura.

Few details are available other than that the emergency coordination centre, 112, received an alert around 19.30h.

They despatched the Guardia Civil, an ambulance and called out the Salvamento Marítimo. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition.

It is too early to know the victim’s identity (if it is ever known) or cause of death. An autopsy follows.
