The Health Department of the Junta de Andalucía lifted the restrictions on Playa Molino and Playa La Charca in Salobreña This morning.
One of them had a recommendation not to swim there and the other had a prohibition against bathing on it, in both cases for the presence of E. Coli; i.e., intestinal bacteria.

The Department for Beaches carried out water-sample testing throughout the summer on a daily basis and after the 8th of this month, more sparodically.
In fact, the Town Hall already knew on Saturday that the latest test results had come back with the presence of this bacteria being within an acceptable parameter, but an OK from the Junta was needed, according to Mayor Javier Ortega.
The Mayor wants more agility with this testing carried out by the Junta to avoid the “paradoxical situation” that occurred this weekend, of “having the beach closed when the water quality was excellent.
This was because the analysis from the Health Department was from Monday the 15th, and the prohibition or recommendation couldn’t be lifted until a new resolution from the Health Department was received regarding both locations on Thursday the 18th, the results of which arriving this morning.”
