A woman was rushed to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril on Friday morning after being knocked down along Avenida Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza whilst riding an electric scooter.

The accident occurred a little before 10.30h, which was the time that the emergency coordination centre, 112, received an alert call to say that a car had hit a woman on an electric scooter.

The victim received a double blow to her body; one where the car hit her and the other when she hit the road surface, leaving her unconscious. It is not clear whether she was wearing the obligatory crash helmet or not.
