A road incident in the city of Granada brings a new meaning to 'catch a bus,' perhaps, after a city tram ran into a municipal bus on a combined junction.
This occurred on the PTS (main hospital) roundabout around 14.00h yesterday on Avenida del Conocimiento, and caused the tram to leave the rails. Nine passengers were injured, according to the emergency services.

The roundabout was blocked for about an hour, causing quite a bit of traffic chaos in a busy area of the capital where it borders with Armilla.
Metro de Granada confirmed that there had been a collision involving one of its trams, claiming that the bus had “invaded the tram line” when the lights were against it, causing the tram to be derailed.
“Nobody was seriously injured; not on the bus nor in the tram carriages, although several passengers were treated on the spot by ambulance paramedics for their cuts and bruises,” read their communique.
Normal traffic was restored after both the bus and the derailed tram were removed at around 17.10h.
