There was a road accident around 05.30h yesterday morning involving a pedestrian trying to cross the Granada bypass (GR-30) in the pitch dark.

The fatal accident happened more or less level with the Ogíjares-Armilla off ramp on the northbound lanes; i.e., heading towards Granada.

Even at that hour this incident caused traffic disruption as these lanes had to be closed down whilst emergency vehicles occuppied them.

The tailback from traffic backing up stretched as far as the Padul A-44 junction. Although the traffic eventually retured to a normal flow, it wasn’t until four hours after the accident that this occurred
