A 13-month-old baby remains in a critical state at the Hospital Materno Infantil in Málaga after nearly drowning in a bathtub.

The incident, which appears to have been an accident, occurred on Thursday morning in the municipality of Monda within the province of Málaga.

The mother ran to the town’s medical centre where the doctors found the baby to have no heartbeat and discoloured skin. The tried during 40 minutes to resuscitate the child.

The baby was rushed to the Hospital Materno Infantil in Málaga by helicopter.
