This week, two walk-in vaccination sessions for adults will be available at the Salobreña Centro de Salud; i.e., there is no need for making an appointment.

These two days will be Wednesday the 4th and Friday the 6th, in the morning. The goal is also to provide information to users about which vaccines need to be boosted, although emphasis will be placed on those for pneumococcus, tetanus, and shingles.

Just as vaccinations for kids is very important, it is also important for adults aged sixty and older, as the immune system begins to weaken at this age. Furthermore, over time, vaccines given in childhood begin to lose effectiveness.

Shingles can leave serious after-effects, such as vision loss if it affects the eyes, or chronic pain if it affects nerves. In this case, two doses will be given two months apart.

The two vaccination sessions will take place from 11:00h in the surgery next to the entrance to the Centro de Salud.
