Out of The Frying Pan…

A driver in the city of Granada who came across a police road-check decided to speed away rather than stop but it ended in a pedestrian being run over.

Patrol cars belonging to the Policía Nacional and the Policía Local gave chase, and even an unmarked police car. They were soon joined by an ambulance after the driver took out a pedestrian

This took place on Thursday in the early hours near Calle Pedro Machuca, in the north of Granada, which is a conflictive area of the city.

The driver was finally detained and it turned out that he had fled the check point because he didn’t have a driving licence.

So, instead of facing just a charge of driving without a valid licence, he now also faces charges of failing to stop at a check point, of reckless driving and injuring a pedestrian, although thankfully, this person was not badly hurt.
