Salobreña's cultural agenda for this month contains several theatre plays as part of the Provincial Circuit, Escenia.
Two famous residents of the town will receive homage from the Town Hall; Juan Madrid and Alfredo Amestoy with the premiere of a documentary. The former is a writer and the latter is a national TV presenter.

Councillor for Culture, Maribel Ruiz Aguilar, explained that this part of the cultural agenda is entitled Ilustres de Salobreña which aims to pay tribute to “two outstanding people who spent their lives as our neighbours, in our shops and bars.”
There are three activities planned for Friday the 7th, with the first one taking place in the morning: the XIV Clara Campoamor tribute to outstanding women of the municipality, which will be held on this occasion on the International Women’s Day at noon in the Auditorium.
Then at 18.00h there will be an exhibition entitled, Los Hilos de Mi Vida by Mari Carmen Ramos in the municipal library, and at 20.00h there will be a concert in the Auditorium entitled Salobreña en clave de Sol and the All that jazz show.
On the 13th, the dance company, Dante Danza will put on Tú y Yo within the Escenia Circuit in the Auditorium, while on the 14th there will be another play put on by the theatre company, La Cítrica with its play Hormones, both in the Auditorium. Also on the 14th there will be a book presentation in the Librería 1616: Comadrejas, by Alejandro Pedregosa.
Saturday the 15th will see the premiere of Juan Madrid, Sus Días Contados, which, as mentioned above, is a documentary in conversation format about the work of the Málaga-born writer who has lived in Salobreña for almost three decades. It will be in the Auditorium with the presence of the author and the director of the film, Rafael Villén ‘Fali’.
Wednesday the 19th, there’s a pop-up card workshop on Federico García Lorca for children from eight years on in the Municipal Library.
On the 20th there will another play in the Auditorium, Único, staged by the theatrical company, Martín Melinsky.
The 21st is World Poetry Day so Librería 1616 putting on poetry readings, while in the Auditorium the Vidas irrenovables documentary will be screened, which is organised by Cal y Caña.
The second tribute occasion, this time for Alfredo Amestoy will premiere his last vaudville, El Postre (The dessert) in the Auditorium at 19.00h. He will be signing copies of his book.
The last item on the agenda is planned for the 27th, which is a book presentation: Mysterious Mother by Ángel Fábregas in Librería 1616.
