The Emergency Coordination Centre (112 Cecem) registered 2,058 incidents over New Year's Eve within the whole of Andalucia)
The period concerned started at 15.00h on the 31st of December and concluded at 06.00h on Wednesday the 1st of January.
This number of calls is slightly lower than the previous year when 2,185 calls for assistance were registered.
The main reason behind the calls were for medical assistance (855) followed by people requiring the presence of the police (563). Traffic related problems (break-downs, obtructions, etc) numbered 117 and actual road accidents totalled 94. The rest were for social services, rescues and utility network faults.
As for where most calls originated, it was Sevilla, (514) which is no surprise as it is the Andalusian province with most inhabitants. This was followed by Málaga (469), Cádiz (257) y Granada (250).
At the other end of the scale were Córdoba (160), Almería (150), Huelva (143) and Jaén (114).
