Tresspassing & Injured

Fire personnel from the Marbella fire station had to go to the rescue of a young lad who had fallen between the large stones along the marina breakwater.

The incident took place in the evening of one day around the beginning of the month. The emergency call centre received an alert around 21.00h to say that somebody had entered an area of the marina where access was not authorised and had suffered an accident and could not move.

One of the smaller fire vehicles with four fire personnel on board was despatched, together with the Policia Local and an ambulance.

When they arrived, first of all they had to search all along the breakwater to find the 19-year old, which involved climbing over a perimeter fence. They eventually found him between two large boulders. He was conscious and complaining of a strong pain in his back.

Checking him over carefully, they then immobolised him because of his back injury and got him out on a stretcher. Once on the road that runs alongside, they were able to transfer him to the waiting ambulance and take him to hospital.
