Almuñécar Requests Post-Fire Aid

Regional MP, Gerardo Sánchez has requested help "as soon as possible" for the recovery of the land damaged by the recent fire before the Andalusian Parliament.

MP Sánchez visited the inland hamlet of Rescate to see for himself the damage to crops and in some cases cortijos. He was accompanied by local PSOE leader, Rocío Palacios

This socialist MP has demanded “diligence” from the regional administration, headed by conservative Prime Minister, Juanma Moreno Bonilla pointing out that not only had the affected families had to deal with the aftermath of the fire, but also the recent drought that strangled 150 hectares of tropical fruit trees.

During the visit to the affected area he noted and included in his report to the Junta that there is no irrigation system in place because much of the PVC pipes were destroyed, leaving the damaged trees without water precisely in the height of summer.
