The scene of a municipal pool in Benahavís was a source of consternation after a child was fished out of the water close to drowning.
This occurred on Wednesday a little before 17.15h, which was when somebody called the incident into the emergency-call number, 112.

Fortunately, the 4-year-old quickly responded to CPR procedure at the pool side, but even so, he was flown by helicopter to the Hospital Materno Infantil in Málaga.
Apparently, according to the 112 report, the child fell into the water whilst the mother was distracted applying a skin-protection cream to another child.
Such was the commotion caused by the incident that it was decided to close the pool facilities down until the next day.
