A young man died in a swimming pool in Fuengirola, according to the 112, Emergency Call Service, belonging to the Junta de Andalucía.

The call centre received a call at 22.50h last Saturday to say that a man had just been pulled out of a pool belonging to an urbanizacion on Avenida Pacosol.

The caller explained that somebody was practicing Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation on the 21-year-old victim but urgent assistance was needed.

The coordination centre immediately despatched an ambulance, as well as the Policía Nacional and Policía Local.

Once the ambulance arrived, the paramedics tried, in vain, to save the man’s life. No details on the victim’s identity or nationality is known at present.
