Molvízar Wonky-Weed Bust

The Motril law courts have sentenced three partners of a company in Molvízar to 18 months' imprisonment who were found with 3,800 cannabis plants in 2021.

COS Molvizar JunctionThe plantation was originally in El Ejido (Almería) within a greenhouse, the owner of which has also received the same sentence. Such a short jail term is automatically a suspended sentence unless the person has previous convictions. However, what will really hurt is a fine of 350,000 euros that each one of them has to cough up, as well as court costs.

The bust took place on the 27th of September, 2021 when officers searched a warehouse on the GR-5300 within the municipality of Molvízar – that’s the Lobres-Jete road.

The warehouse belongs to the three business partners. This is where the plants were discovered. The plants had started off life in a greenhouse in Tarambana-El Ejido but were later transferred to Molvízar.

Farmers are allowed to cultivate industrial cannabis sativa (hemp) but only with a THC content of less than 0.2%, but straight out wonky weed is still a no-no.
