Cetursa, the company which runs the Sierra Nevada ski station, has announced that the season will end on the 28th of April.

This would make it the last ski station in Spain to close this spring, thanks to these recent snowfalls that have given it 73 kilometres of ski slopes in operation.

Sierra Nevada has also been able to host the Copa del Mundo Snowboard Cross 2024, obtaining the praise of the International Ski Federation.

Things didn’t look so rosy at the beginning of February when they only had half of their slopes open and then things got worse with the arrival of Karlotta with its low visibility and high winds, culminating in mud pouring down over the ski resorts white slopes. However, the snow maintenance crews were able to turn it all around within 24 hours and get the slopes open again.

So, here we are with just under two months to go and weather provisions indicate a depth of 40 centimetres for this weekend. The objective remains within grasp of being the last ski resort in Spain to close for the season.
