The Motril fire service was called out, together with the Guardia Civil, to rescue a lorry driver who had come off the road in Molvízar.

The fire personnel were needed because after bouncing down an embankment the driver of the water bowser had become trapped in the wreckage of the cab.

This took place on Wednesday morning with the driver remaining trapped several hours before somebody found him.

Once pulled out of the cab, using ropes and pulleys, he was flown by helicopter to hospital.
