There was a small, flat fire up in the Sierra Nevada ski resort which was handled by a fire-department detachment which is based there.
The fire was reported in the early hours of Sunday. According to a press release from the Bomberos Granada, two people suffered from smoke inhalation.
Furthermore, it was necessary to evacuate the block of flats as a cautionary measure whilst the fire was being dealt with. Fortunately, the flat where it happened was not occupied at the time and the people treated for smoke poisoning were neighbours.
It was after a large wooden building (hotel) burnt down within the ski village because it took so long for the fire trucks to get to Pradollano that the decision was finally taken to keep a fire-service detachment within the ski resort.
