As has become the custom in La Herradura, Santa arrives on a paddle board with kids from the village waiting eagerly on the shoreline.
This is an event organised by Windsurf La Herradura, which not only has Santa busy paddling, but he is escorted by other paddle boarders and elves in kayaks.
In fact, it has become so popular that about 50 people from different parts of Andalucía come to participate or bring their kids to watch.
Santa doesn’t come directly to the beach but rather paddles across the bay keeping close to the beach, escorted by his flotilla.
Fortunately, yesterday was a perfect day as far as the weather went so neither Santa nor any of his water-borne helpers got sea sick.
