The autovía over the new pedestrian/cycle tunnel, which is under construction beneath the autovía, has subsided again.
Earlier in the week, workers had filled in a dip in the surface during an all-night session.
The section that we’re talking about, more or less, is in front of the Nevada Shopping Centre.
This latest repair work began around four in the afternoon yesterday with the aim of having the lane reoopened by that same night.
What’s causing the trouble, it seems, is the ready-made, square tunnel that is being pushed through the embankment; it’s causing small subsidences in the surface of the south-bound lanes of the autovía.
Whilst the road above is being resurfaced, workers are injecting material through the tunnel walls to strenghen its weigh-bearing capacity.
