The accused offered five women in Paraguay work with a good salary but once in Spain, she reportedly forced them into prostitution.
There are also another three people who are being prosecuted within the same case: two men for whom the Public Prosecutor recommends 40 and almost 26 years’ imprisonment; a woman who faces a recommendation of eleven years in prison.
The case will be tried on the 7th and 9th of this month in the Sección Primera de la Audiencia Provincial de Granada.
The affair dates back to 2015, the ‘madam’ fooled her victims, who were all in personal, economically precarious situations, in Paraguay into coming to Spain with offers of remunerated work
The women were to be lodged in one of the two dwellings that the accused has in Almuñécar. They were to hand over 100% of the money earnt for sexual favours, which ranged between 30 euros and 200 euros. They were to receive back from the sums handed over between 40 and 50 percent.
Once they had paid off the money owed to the madam for financing the expenses of bringing them over from the scarce amount that they actually received from her, they then had to face paying for their lodgings, food and clothes, working 24/7 with no days of rest. They were allowed very limited time outside the flat.
In short the ‘madam’ allegedly controlled every aspect of their lives.
The accused individuals pay compensation to the five victims to the tune of 39,000 euros.
