Officers belonging to the Policía Nacional in Málaga arrested a 40-year-old man for inflicting a knife wound on a dog.

The incident took place last Wednesday, October the 4th. The Police received a call at 16:45h from the animal’s owner, a woman, who lives in the eastern end of the city.

Officers from the Brigada Provincial de Seguridad Ciudadana called at the house and found the wounded dog and its irate owner.

They questioned the owner who said that minutes before an acquaintance had jumped over the wall around the house and whilst standing in the garden, started to threaten one of the woman’s relatives. The people in the house didn’t dare go out to the garden, so they stayed inside.

Before leaving, frustrated, the intruder vented his anger on the dog, an American Staffordshire terrier. Luckily, the wound to its neck turned out to be superficial.

A police patrol located the alleged culprit who will face charges of unlawful entry and cruelty to animals.
