A man in his 30s was injured in the late afternoon of the 3rd whilst practicing paragliding.

The accident took place within the municipality of Ronda in the province of Málaga when the man was coming in to land around six in the afternoon.

Shortly afterwards witnesses alerted the 112 emergency, call centre to say that the flyer had injured his back after landing badly.

Thanks to the GPS location data given by the caller, the emergency services were able to immediately pinpoint his position in order to send the medicalised helicopter to pick him up and fly him to the nearest hospial; i.e., Hospital de la Serranía de Ronda.
