The Policía Nacional are investigating the identity of the body of a man on a beach in Torre del Mar yesterday morning.

The victim, aged between 65 and 75, thought to be a foreign tourist, was found on the shoreline in front of Chiringuito Casa Miguel, which is situated on the seafront promenade.

Several beachgoers at that time came across the dead body and informed 112, which despatched the Policía Local and Policía Nacional as well as medical staff to certify the victim’s death.

The body showed no signs of physical injury so the hypothesis is that he died from natural causes, but this has to be confirmed with an autopsy at the Instituto de Medicina Legal (IML), in the city of Málaga.
